Pamela Suzette Grier (born 26 May 1949 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina) is an American actress. She grew higher within Denver, Colorado, & is first cousin to footballer and actor Rosey Grier.
Career
Grier was found by quick fix director Roger Corman, who cast her around his women-in-prison pictures The Heavy Doll Home (1971) & A Heavy Bird Cage (1972). She became the staple of the blaxploitation movies of the early 1970s, playing large, bold, buxom, & fundamentally interchangeable roles inside such films when Coffy (1973), '''Sheba, Baby' (1975) and Foxy Brown'' (1974).
Sustaining a death of blaxploitation, Grier's career went into hiatus for a bit of years. She worked her way into increasingly big character roles in the 1980s, including notably the hopped-up working girl inside Fort Apache a Bronx (1981), a witch around Something Wicked this Way Comes (1983), and Steven Seagal's detective partner within Above the Law (1988). She became the regular on the hit television detective series Miami Vice in 1985.
Ms. Grier highlighted a successful television series in the period of the '90s on the network B.E.T.
Grier re-achieved leading lady status within 1997 as the nominal air hostess within Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown, which many assume her better operate thus far. Grier is presently appearing in the television series The L Word.
